I saw another artist’s work that I admire and her use of color and composition. It reminded me of a springtime walk in the forest, and a home I once had in Oregon that had a seasonal creek in the backyard that my kids loved to play near. There was something magical about stepping outside and sitting on a rock to listen to the sounds of the outdoors.
In this piece I used a light palette of colors with some dark purple and variations of green with some cold wax medium to build texture. I’m having fun with textures right now because they add energy and depth.
